Italy vs North Macedonia Match Preview

Italy will face North Macedonia in this World Cup 2022 playoff game at Stadio Renzo Barbera in Palermo.

Italy finished in the second position in their qualification group, behind Switzerland. Italy are the reigning European Champions and it was quite a shock for them not to top their group. Things look very tough now as they would probably have to face Portugal if they knock out North Macedonia in this one.

Italy want to put their best effort here and not take this game lightly it's worth mentioning that North Macedonia have even beat Germany in the group stage. Italy will be without Chiesa, Bonucci, and Spinazolla for this game. 

North Macedonia also finished the second position in their group, behind Germany. It would be very hard for North Macedonia to get past Italy, they would give a fight though. 

The best player for North Macedonia in my opinion is Elmas who plays in Serie A. However, he will not be featuring for this game as he is suspended because of yellow cards and this is a big blow to North Macedonia. 

Out of the last two head-to-head meetings between these sides, Italy won once and drew once. Italy would like to start strongly and score an early goal to keep their nerves relaxed. I predict Italy would lead at the break.
