Juventus vs Atalanta Match Preview

Juventus is ranked at the 10th place with 22 points and comes after four wins and a loss over the last five matches. They were going pretty good before a shocking 5-1 defeat against Napoli which basically took them out of the title race. Now things are even worse as they got a 15 points deduction which means right now they sit out of the European zone. Defensively they are a very solid side despite that one game against Napoli and now they will be hungry for redemption to try and reach Europa League at least. They conceded only 12 goals which makes them the best over the league. In attack too they have been pretty decent and considering that now Chiesa is fully back they should be even more dangerous. He produced a great goal in the Cup game a couple of days ago. Vlahovic is back from his injury too but he should not play from the start same thing as Pogba who will finally be on the bench.

Atalanta on the other side is ranked at the 5th place with 34 points and comes after some ups and downs as they got two wins a draw and two losses over the last five duels. After some shaky performances they managed to thrash Salernitana winning 8-2 and right after that they got another 5-2 in the the Cup game against Spezia. Offensively they have been doing slightly better than Juventus but their problem this season has been their defense. It is understandable considering that they made some major changes to their team and even now they sold a player like Malinovsky. A big blow will be the absence of Koopmeiners who is their second best scorer with 6 goals - 4 assists but will sit this one out. In the last five matches they conceded a total of ten goals which means two goals per game.

In conclusion I think Juventus can win this match or get at least a draw out of it. At home they are still unbeaten collecting seven wins and two draws over nine matches and their main goal will be to avoid the second defeat in a row now. Atalanta is surely a decent team but I do not think they have what it takes right now to beat Juventus on the road.
