Lecce vs Udinese Match Preview

Lecce played completely passive in the first half of the match against Bologna and found themselves back in the score, and possibly they could have easily conceded more than one goal. This happened in the second half, though, with the visitors quickly reaching a 3 goal-scoring lead, securing the three points. Lecce awoke towards the end of the match and managed to get into the game thanks to the two late goals from Babacar and Farias. However, there was no time for anything more than that, moreover, they didn't deserved it at all. This was the third consecutive winless game for Lecce, something that pushes them to become more competitive in order to have no problems in the end. Certainly they need to start winning in front of their fans, where they have 4 draws and 4 defeats so far. Left-back Calderoni is suspended, while right-back Meccariello is injured. Imbula and Fiamozzi remain doubtful.

After five rounds without a single win in Serie A, Udinese prevailed over Cagliari winning 2-1 at Friuli. They were lucky enough to win, as their opponent had a really bad performance that night Despite that the guests had the possession of the ball, they were less creative than usua.  Although Cagliari tied the game in the 84th minute, a minute later Fofana gave Udinese a victory in a game where a draw would be the deserved result. So at the end of the 17th round they were sitting at the 14th place, having a 4-point distance from the relegation zone. The only absent for the guests is the defender Samir.

Neither team impressed in their last games, but the passive way Udinese plays away from home leads me to pick the home side here. The reality is that Lecce have not won any home games this year, but that will happen sometime. I consider them a better offensive team than Udinese and I expect that they will make their first home win of the season this evening. Lecce to win is my call.
