Leicester vs Roma Match Preview

Leicester has reached their first semi-final in European competition and the team has been fully focused on the UEFA Conference League since the start of their campaign. They started their knock-out games with an easy duel against Randers FC which they beat 7-2 on aggregate. After that a tougher task against Rennes as they won 2-0 at home and lost 2-1 on the road while in the quarter-finals we saw them take care of PSV coming back with two goals in 10 mins of the second half of the return leg.

Here they will miss Bertrand, Ndidi and Soumare but the good news is that Vardy is fully fit and should play from the start. At home, they have never lost collecting two wins and a draw over three matches played while if we were to consider all competitions they are in a nine-game unbeaten run collecting five wins and four draws.

Roma, on the other hand, had a decent journey too as they qualified directly for the 1/8 finals where they had to face Vitesse and after drawing 1-1 on the road managed to snatch a 1-0 win at home. Then the famous duel again against Bodo/Glimt where they lost 2-1 on the road but then managed to change everything with a dominant 4-0 win in front of their fans.

The big blow for this duel is the absence of Zaniolo as he got injured before the game against Inter and probably will not be fit now. But having Abraham in attack surely will be of big help for the team as he has been leading them in both Serie A and UEFA Conference League this season totaling 24 goals and 5 assists.

In conclusion, I think both teams can score at least a goal tonight. Leicester at home has been a solid team throughout the season and should score in front of their fans. Roma has failed to keep a clean sheet in four of the last five away games across all competitions. Even though they are on the road I think they have enough power in attack to find the back of the net here with Abraham and Mkhitaryan.
