Lyon - Monaco Match Preview

French  Ligue 1 is going to have some interesting matches this game week and one of these is Lyon against Monaco.

Lyon has played some really interesting games recently. They have wins like the one 5-4 against Strasbourg which was an amazing game. In the last game, they lost against Clermont and that was a missed chance to catch up to Lille in 5th place which is leading to Europa Conference League. There are 3 games until the end and Lyon has tough opponents to face: Monaco, Reims and Nice.

Monaco, on the other side, is in 4th place as they have 5 points more than Lille and 8 points less than Marseille so they are most probably going to end up being 4th-placed. This place will guarantee them an UEFA Europa League ticket for the next season which is good for them.

Both teams are recently scoring a lot of goals but also allowing a lot of goals. A good example is Lyon's recent game against Strasbourg. I don't think this match will be high scoring because these two teams are close in terms of quality and I don't see either team being able to dominate the other team. If we don't see an early goal in the first 20 minutes, I expect that this match will have less than 3 goals.
