Man City vs Chelsea Match Preview

Manchester City got a big shock after their 3-1 defeat to Liverpool and now they see themselves at the fourth spot with 25 points, one less than Leicester and Chelsea and nine from league leaders Liverpool. Of course Guardiola will never give up, so we should expect an angrier Man City from now on. They are the best attacking side in the Premier League having scored 35 goals in 12 games, averaging almost three goals per game. Despite they will face an in form side like Chelsea, I expect Man City to play well to claim the three points. They have scored 12 goals in their last five home games against Chelsea, while winning three of them.

Chelsea, on the other side, are ranked at the third place with 26 points and come in a perfect form after winning their last five matches in a row. In this winning streak they have scored 13 goals, averaging at least two goals per game, while they have conceded four goals. Of course it is going to be difficult trying to compete with Liverpool for the title and the main goal for Chelsea is securing a spot in the Champions League for next season. However, I expect Lampard to continue on hurting Guardiola's team and inflict another loss on them.

In conclusion, I think both teams should be able to score at least a goal here. Man City plays at home and despite the distance from Liverpool, a goal is the minimum expected by them when in front of their fans. Chelsea are playing very good football and will be without pressure here since they are in a comfortable position.
