Manchester City vs Liverpool Match Preview

Manchester City starts this duel as the favorite team considering the different form shown by the two sides this season. In the Premier League, Manchester City is ranked in 2nd place and is the team with the best offensive side having already scored 40 goals over 14 matches which means almost three goals per game. Having a player like Haaland has completely changed the team as he is the author of 18 goals and 3 assists in the Premier League.

Over the last five matches, City scored a total of 10 goals across all competitions but a minor problem has been their defense as they have conceded at least a goal in three of them. In fact, in the Premier League, they have only the third-best defense. The only missing player here is going to be Julian Alvarez who is not back from the Argentinian national team.

Liverpool, on the other side, will try to upset their rivals once again as they did a couple of months ago when they beat them 3-1 to win the FA Community Shield and 1-0 in a Premier League duel. This season has been full of ups and downs for Liverpool as they are ranked 5th in the league but it is quite an improvement considering how bad they were doing earlier.

Offensively they are also one of the best teams considering all the top players they have up front. Diaz is out because of injury but Firminho, Salah, and Nunez should provide the power they need. Their defense has not been anything special lately as they conceded 6 goals over the last five matches where they failed to keep a clean sheet on four occasions.

In conclusion, I think both teams can score at least a goal here. Manchester City has to try harder and avenge the two losses suffered by Liverpool this season. At home, they can probably score one goal. Liverpool somehow always managed to punish their rivals and I think nothing will change even now despite being on the road and having some missing players.
