Manchester United vs Brighton Match Preview

Manchester United will be playing against Brighton at Old Trafford in their opening game of the 2022-23 Premier League. 

Manchester United did not do well last season as they failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League and will be playing in the Europa League this season. Players were looking so frustrated and demotivated under their former manager Ralf Rangnick. However, under Ten Haag, Manchester United have been playing very good football as we saw in the few friendly games they played. 

Manchester United thrashed Liverpool by four goals to nil which was a very shocking result even though it was a friendly game. They have signed central defender Martinez and left back Malacia. Their defence was their weakest line last season and they seem to have sorted out this issue. 

Brighton performed good last season but they were behind Manchester United in the standings. They have lost their best defender Cucurella who was a key player last season and this would really affect them. 

Manchester United, in their earlier games last season played against Brighton and they won the game by three goals to two. The final whistle had already gone and the score was 2-2, but the referee went to check the VAR, and Manchester United was awarded a penalty making the score 3-2. 

I expect Manchester United to win here.
