Olympiacos Piraeus vs Atromitos Match Preview

Olympiacos was unable to compete on Wednesday night in Munich against Bayern, for the 4th round in the Champions League, and they lost 2-0. Despite the defeat, they continue to have hopes to take the 3rd position of the group, which will lead them to the next stage of the Europa League competition. Definitely their last game against Red Star will be decisive. Olympiacos in the previous match for the Greek Super League left two valuable points in Xanthi with a 0-0 draw,  after a mediocre performance. However, they retained their position at the top of the rankings with 23 points, at least before the start of the 9th round, having a 2-point difference with the 2nd placed PAOK.

Atromitos had a bad result last week, as they were defeated in OAKA to AEK 3-2. Atromitos was very close to getting a draw, but they conceded the third goal in the dying minutes, having made some crucial defensive mistakes. This was their fourth defeat in the league for Atromitos, which keep them pretty low, in the 8th place of the table, having 11 points.

Olympiacos are the favorites in this match, and they will try to get a win in order to keep them in the first place of the table. On the other hand, Atromitos continue to underperform, despite their quality team. I expect a match with a lot of goals here, the 'Reds' always scoring goals with ease on their home ground, while Atromitos can also find the way to the net, as they've done in all of their away games this season! Over 2,5 goals is my call.
