Olympiakos vs AEK Athens Match Preview

Olympiakos faces AEK Athens for the 14th round of the Greek Super League at G. Karaiskakis.

The hosts remain at the 1st spot of the table and getting closer to the title week by week. After 12 rounds played, they are still unbeaten, with 10 wins and 2 draws, having created a significant difference from the rest of the title competitors.

In their last match for 2020, they prevailed with an amazing 5-1 over Larisa at home.

On the other hand, things didn't go well for AEK in the previous round, as they drew 2-2 at home against Volos. Despite opening the score early in the game, Volos took the lead by scoring 2 goals. Luckily for the hosts, they saved one point by scoring the equalizer at the 70th minute.

After this outcome, they are ranked 4h in the table with a total of 24 points, being 8 points away from the 1st spot. Considering the recent bad performances of the team, the club sacked their manager Massimo Carrera, and now Manolo Jimenez will be on their bench, for the 4th time just 1 and a half years later after his last term! Technical Director Ilija Ivic was also sacked, Panagiotis Kone who recently retired from football is his replacement

Despite playing behind closed doors, Olympiakosis the big favorite for the three points as their motivation for the title is high. AEK, on the other hand, will try to get a positive result here in order to remain at the first spots on the table.
