Panionios vs AEK Match Preview

Panionios face AEK for the 26th and final round of the regular season of the Greek Super League.

After the defeat in Agrinio, Panionios is one step closer to the relegation in the Super League 2. The 7-point distance from 13th placed Panetolikos could not be covered in the playouts, considering also their latest poor performances.

The team of Panionios will try to take a positive result here but I don't know how can they achieve that. In the last 11 rounds, they won only once, while they hav lost the 9 of them. I don't expect them to take a positive result against a way better team.

AEK are currently in the 3rd place of the table with a large point difference from both the 2nd PAOK and the 4th Panathinaikos. Within the 10 matches on the playoffs, they will try to cover the 8-point difference from PAOK and take the 2nd place that leads to the Champions League qualifiers.

AEK are in very good shape and in 2020 they got defeated only once, 1-0 to champions PAOK in Toumpa. In the Greek Super League they are coming from 5 consecutive wins and they are the big favorites of this game.

I think AEK will face no problem expanding their winning streak here, entering the playoffs with great motivation, chasing there something that seems quite difficult at the moment.  Panionios are not even trying in the last few matches, as they have actually lost all their realistic hopes to remain in the Super League, they are just waiting for the end of the season. The odds for the away win are very low, as expected, but I think that even 1.57 odds are quite acceptable and probably they won't last till the Sunday evening kickoff.
