Philadelphia Union vs Portland Timbers Match Preview

For the MLS Cup semifinals, Philadelphia Union face Portland Timbers at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. In case of a draw, straight the penalty shootout will follow.

Philadelphia took a big victory over Kansas City in the previous round of the competition, securing their qualification. They performed well and managed to score three goals in total. This 3-1 victory gave them the chance to fight for a place in the grand final. Without missings tonight, Jim Curtin will line up his best eleven, while no several changes are expected.

On the other hand, after qualifying from the groups, Portland faced Cincinnati and qualified through the penalty shootout process. At the last 8 of the event, they came across New York City, and, although they were back in the score by one goal, they managed to turn things around and get the victory. They are counting a lot on their attack, that usually scores with ease. 

Both teams have the same goal and dream a slot in the big final of the tournament. At the same time, I expect both sides to focus on the attack. Portland Timbers is a much more experienced side and with great quality on their roster. Portland Timbers to win is my call.
