Platense vs Sarmiento Junin Match Preview

Platense started the new season with an away win 1-0 over Argentinos Jrs, but they couldn't follow this trend in the next rounds. They lost 0-1 in their home game against River Plate, followed by another defeat, this time against Godoy Cruz on the road. They were quite improved in their most recent one despite their 3-1 loss, conceding twice in the last five minutes of the game.

Juan Manuel Llop has to handle 3 missings tonight as Juan Infante, Nicolas Zalazar, Franco Baldassarra were tested positive to COVID-19, actually, he wasn't able to field his best eleven in any of the previous matches of Platense. Another difficult match is coming for newcomers Platense who are going to face Racing Club in the next round. 

On the other hand, Sarmiento lost 0-2 in their opening game against Velez Sarsfield, however, they saw much improvement in their two following games, despite they weren't able to win any of them. They shared points with title contenders Boca Juniors at Bombonera (1-1), followed by another draw, this time playing at their home, 1-1 vs Talleres.

Mario Sciacqua has done a great job and Sarmiento seems to be ready for their first win in this newcomers matchup. There are no missing players reported for the visitors who have another away match in the following round, this time against Independiente.

Platense started with the enthusiasm of newcomers, however, it is clear that they have to fight hard and become more competitive in this demanding league. Tonight they miss some key players and they have to be even tougher on the field. On the other hand, Sarmiento is quite decent so far and has all that is needed to win their first three-pointer in the Argentinian Copa de la Liga Professional. The away win is my call in this one, the odds are OK.
