Poland vs Sweden Match Preview

Poland reached the final of the play offs after all the controversy with Russia and now will square of for a World Cup ticket. In the group stage they were a bit lucky managing to end up second and honestly I saw them having a difficult time against Russia already. While it is true they have a player like Lewandowski the fact is that Poland has never performed at the expected level in the past seasons and I am afraid this will keep on haunting them on a crucial game like this.

They will miss Dawidowicz, Milik and Rybus because of injury while Klich is suspended. They are all players who played an important role in their qualifying campaign and surely it will not be an easy task to replace them. Lewandowski will play upfront backed up by the duo Zielinski - Moder and only the former has been performing at a high level this season.

Sweden, on the other hand, managed to make their life difficult with the final two games in the group stage as they lost them both and allowed Spain to overtake them earning the direct ticket for the World Cup 2022. In the previous playoff game against Czech Republic they needed the extra time to score the winner but the important thing is they did it playing quite good football while not risking much.

Another positive aspect is the return of Ibrahimovic and Krafth from suspension. Ibra will definitely play from the start here. He is having quite a good season with AC Milan and I would not be surprised if he scores since their rivals do not have such a solid defense failing to keep a clean sheet in three of the last five games.

In conclusion I think Sweden can manage to win this game or get at least a draw out of it. They have a team which in my opinion is more solid than their rivals and they have proven that in the recent years. In the previous EURO 2020 final stage Sweden beat them in the group stage while Poland totally disappointed everyone collecting just one point.
