Porto vs Benfica Match Preview

Porto would be hosting Benfica in the Taca de Portugal. 

Porto has been better than Benfica this season. In the league, they are at the top of the table having won 13 games and drawn two out of the 15 games played. They are in very good form as they have won all the last five league games played.

Porto failed to reach the round of 16 of the Champions League as they were beaten by Athletico Madrid in their last group stage game. Sergio Conceicao wants his team to win this cup game as they have a chance to win the domestic treble. Pepe would still be out since he got injured against Braga.

Benfica, on the other hand, has won four and lost once out of the last five games played. Their loss was to Sporting by three goals to one. Benfica has won all their last three games by more than two goals but it will be a big test for them here against Porto. Benfica qualified for the Champions League round of 16 and they would have a lot of pressure now, coping with too many leagues/tournaments.

All the last five head-to-head meetings between the sides ended in Porto not losing against Benfica. Three of them ended in Porto winning and two ended in a draw. I, therefore, expect again Porto not to lose this game.
