Racing Club vs Boca Juniors Match Preview

Racing Club welcomes Boca Juniors for the 1st leg of Copa Libertadores quarter-finals, at Presidente Juan Domingo Perón. In the case of no winner on aggregate, the away goals rule will be used. The match will be held behind closed doors due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The hosts are coming from a big qualification over Brazilian Flamengo in the previous round of the competition. Both encounters ended with a 1-1 draw and Racing Club managed to win the qualification ticket in the penalty shout-out.

In the domestic league, Racing Club suffered a 2-1 home defeat in the previous round against Velez Sarsfield, playing under a heavy rotation. No significant missings are reported for the manager Sebastián Beccacece. The striker Lisandro Lopez is expected to start in the game.

Boca Juniors, on the other hand, managed to qualify in the quarter-finals getting past International. Despite having a clear advantage after winning 0-1 on the road, in the second leg, they suffered a 0-1 defeat playing at the Bombonera. With an aggregate score of 1-1, the two teams were driven to the penalty shout-out, where Boca Juniors won the qualification.

In the previous round of the Argentinian Primera División, Boca drew 1-1 at home against Arsenal Sarandi, having a lot of changes in their squad, as their manager was preparing his best eleven for tonight's match. The only missing for Russo's team is striker Abilla due to injury. The manager expects a lot from his key players Cardona and Tevez to reach victory.
