Racing Club vs San Lorenzo Match Preview

Racing Club and San Lorenzo will go head to head for a qualification ticket at Estadio Juan Domingo Presidente Perón. The match will be held behind closed doors.

The hosts suffered a 1-0 defeat against Central Cordoba which makes things even more difficult for them to qualify to the next round of the competition. They currently sit at 7th spot with 18 points and today's matchup can be described as the decisive one for them. Racing has still hopes for qualification but they must win with at least with a 2-goal difference here, while Rosario must not win against Platense.

In the previous round of Copa Libertadores, they failed to reach victory playing a bore draw against Sao Paulo and after 3 rounds they've registered a total of 5 points. I expect a very offensive formation here by Juan Antonio Pizzi. 

San Lorenzo, on the other hand, comes from a good streak of positive results against River Plate and Godoy Cruz. These results helped them climb up the ranks, reaching a total of 21 points and today they need at least a point to qualify for the next round of the competition. They can qualify even if they lose here but this needs some other results to be on their favor.

Things didn't go so well for them in Copa Sudamericana as they sit at the rock bottom of their group as in the most recent game they failed to get a positive result once again, playing a 1-1 draw against 12 de Octubre. Angel Romero is unavailable today due to Covid-19 as well as Donatti due to injury.

Racing Club has to win with a two-goal difference at least, while San Lorenzo can qualify even with a draw here. I expect a fast-paced game with many goal-scoring chances. So over 2.5 is my call for this one.
