Sassuolo vs Lazio Match Preview

Italian Serie A is going to continue this weekend and one of the most interesting matches is this one between Sassuolo and Lazio.

Sassuolo is one of the most enjoyable teams to watch in Serie A in the last few seasons. At the moment they are in poor form, they have only 1 win in the last 10 games in all competitions, including friendly games. In the beginning of the second part of the season they lost both their matches, 2-1 to Fiorentina and Sampdoria.

In the last 9 games in Serie A they have 1 win, 1 draw and 7 losses. That poor form resulted in their 16th place in the table. They are 7 points above the relegation zone and even they are too good to be relegated this season their form troubles their fans.

Lazio also has started their second part of the season with some bad results. They lost to Lecce and then played a draw against Empoli. The match against Empoli was a big disappointment for them as they had a two-goal lead until the 83rd minute of the match. They dropped to 5th place and they have 3 points less than 4th-placed Inter.

Their main target this season is probably that 4th or 3rd spot and a Champions League spot in the next season but competition is tough: Roma, Inter, Juventus, Atalanta are also contenters. 

Sassuolo is playing at home and that should be an advantage for them but Lazio has the edge in this match because the poor form of the hosts. Sassuolo defence is not at the level and a talented attack such as Lazio's should have the tools to exploit that.
