In the first half, the 'Saints' were good enough, having the possession of the ball, but couldn't score any goals. However, Crystal Palace opened the scoreline at the beginning of the second half, but shortly after they become very passive, and the hosts found the equalizer, missing out a lot of chances to revert the scoreline. After this outcome, Southampton stayed 4 points clear from the relegation zone. Back Valery and forward Shane Long are still unavailable.

For another away game, Tottenham performed really average playing a 2-2 draw at Norwich. The home side took the lead twice and had chances to even extend their lead, but Spurs equalized with Eriksen and Kane's goals from set pieces.
