Sweden vs Georgia Match Preview

Sweden starts the campaign for the World Cup qualifiers with lots of positivity as they host Georgia. They were relegated to league B in the UEFA Nations League after some poor results and some changes have been made to the team and hopefully they can start a new cycle.

It is worth mentioning also the come back of Zlatan Ibrahimovic after a couple of years since his retirement. He has been quite on form with AC Milan. Alongside him there will be players like Kulusevski - Juventus, Forsberg - RB Leipzig, Isak - Real Sociedad, Lindelof - Manchester United and the goalkeeper Olsen - Everton. Most probably their rival for the second spot will be Greece which means they can not allow false steps against the other two teams.

Georgia, on the other hand, once again starts the new campaign with a modest team and with the only goal to avoid finishing last. In the recent years, the quality of their team has dropped and I guess they were even lucky not to relegate to a lower league in the UEFA Nations League.

Here they come with a team that all the players together have scored a total of 25 goals. Their best scorer is the captain Kankava with 10 goals but he is over 35 years old. While to put that into perspective Ibrahimovic alone has scored 62 goals for Sweden. Alongside Kankava we should see the likes of Kvekveskiri - Lech Poznan, Kvilitalia - Anorthosis Famagusta, and Kakabadze - Tenerife, however, I do not see the quality needed in them.

In conclusion, I think Sweden can win this match and manage to cover -1 goals Asian handicap. They are a better team full of experienced and quality players who are hungry to give a strong signal after the disappointing performance in the Nations League. Georgia like I said lacks the quality need to face a team like Sweden and even more on the road.
