The value is on the home win

Aalborg could have walked away with something more than a narrow 1-0 loss to Midtjylland last Sunday. They missed a penalty kick in the first half time to open the scoreline, and they also didn’t find the net in the second half, even if they were playing with a man more in the pitch. On the contrary, they conceded in the dying minutes of the game, the hosts were surely more competitive, even if they were playing with a man less. Left-back Klitten and forward van Weert (2 goals this season) are not available tonight.

Esbjerg continued with poor performances in the beginning of the Super Liga. In their most recent one they lost 1-0 to Odense in front of their own fans. After 4 rounds played, they have just one point, having scored only one goal in this spell. Additionally, they played in the Europa League qualifiers vs Shakhtar Soligorsk, failing also to score in their two matches (0-2 on aggregate). Winger Oti is still out, actually, he hasn’t performed at all so far in this season.

Even if Aalborg has only 4 points so far, they are a quite solid side, and better results are surely expected. On the other hand, Esbjerg has offensive worries, and as long as they cannot score, points will not come. I expect the home team to prevail here, possibly easier than the offered odds suggest.
