Tottenham vs Burnley Match Preview

For the 37th round of the English Premier League, Tottenham welcomes Burnley at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham were the big winners last Thursday in the North London derby against Arsenal with 3-0. They entered the match strongly and were happy to open the score from the penalty spot, and a few minutes later they gained a numerical advantage and scored a second goal. At the beginning of the second half, they scored their third goal and then just controlled the rest of the game.

After this outcome, Tottenham maintained their unbeaten run for the fourth consecutive game, reaching 62 points after 35 games played and reducing to 4 points from 4th-placed Arsenal in their h2h battle for a top-four spot.

Burnley comes from a rather unexpected result in the previous round losing at home 1-3 to Aston Villa. A decisive role in the result was played by the fact that they stood behind the score from the first ten minutes, then they tried to equalize but not only did they not succeed but they also conceded a second goal. The same scenario in the second part as at the beginning they conceded for a third time and they only managed to score a consolation goal just before the end of the match.

This was the first defeat for Burnley after a small unbeaten streak of 4 games, however, they remain slightly above the last trio of the standings with 34 points, tied with the 18th placed Leeds, but from which they have one game less.

A very interesting game, on the one hand, Tottenham targets the victory to continue hopping for a top four spot, and on the other hand Burnley to increase their hopes of staying in the category. Both will chase victory in this one, and I expect to see some goals here. My pick is the Over 2.5 goals alternative at 1.60 odds.
