Union Berlin vs Bayer Leverkusen Match Preview

Union Berlin is ranked at the 11th place with 26 points and finally can breathe some air, since they have a nine-point distance from the relegation zone. They come after two wins and three losses over the last five matches but their strength this season has been while playing in front of their crowd, where they won six out of ten games and four of the last five.

Playing in their home field, they managed to score 14 goals in ten games and found the back of the net at least once in eight matches. Now they seek to get another positive result in front of their fans which consolidates their position further and makes another step towards avoiding relegation.

Bayer Leverkusen, on the other side, is ranked at the 5th place with 37 points. They come almost in perfect shape with four wins and just a loss over the last five matches. This good run allowed them to climb in ranks and see themselves just two points from the Champions League zone.

On the road, they are the third-best team and I expect another good performance by them, despite they have to play against a tough rival when playing at home like Union Berlin. Volland and Alario backed up by Havertz have performed quite good this season and since they are expected to start again, I think they can be on the scoreboard again. 

In conclusion, I think both teams can score a goal. Union Berlin is the typical team that makes a fortress of their home ground and I think they should be able to score minimum a goal here despite the final result. Bayer Leverkusen needs to aim for the three points before the Europa League campaign starts again and they will have to divide their focus, so they can score a goal too.
