Uruguay vs Chile Match Preview

Uruguay face Chile for the first round of the CONMEBOL World Cup 2022 qualifiers at Centenario.

Óscar Tabárez's team seems to have great chemistry. The 73-year-old manager has managed to build a good team and get the best possible from each player. Despite that Uruguay has been inactive for so long, I expect to see a side in good shape that can face any opponent. The quality of the players that Uruguay has is undeniable and they will try to grab a ticket to the World Cup 2022 final stage through these qualifiers.

Uruguay's miss the 33-year-old Edinson Cavani (he recently signed to Manchester United). Unavailable are also Stuani and Jimenez due to injuries.

On the other hand, Chile made great appearances as we expected in the last Copa America where they reached the semifinals of the tournament. Since the arrival of the manager Reinaldo Rueda on their bench, back in January 2018, Chile are looking to be improved and more competitive. Their goal is clearly nothing other than to participate in the World Cup finals.

In tonight's match, however, they have many important missings, like Bravo, Gary Medel, Isla, Erick Pulgar, Guillermo Maripán, Castillo, Mora, and Pedro Pablo Hernández.

Uruguay is a great team with quality players on their squad and I think they can take advantage of the weakness of Chile and taking all three points.
