Valencia vs Atalanta Match Preview

Valencia will try to revert their 4-1 defeat to Atalanta in the first leg played in Bergamo.

The heavy 4-1 defeat makes things very difficult for Valencia to qualify in the next stage of the UEFA Champions League 2019/20, but they will definitely give it all to succeed. In the first match, their poor performance cost them a lot conceding 4 goals in the first 60 minutes of the game, however, in the last minutes they played a lot better and managed to score. With this goal, they have slight hopes for qualification.

In the previous round of the domestic league, they drew 1-1 against Alaves away from home and after 27 rounds they are currently 7th-placed in the standings with a total of 42 points. 

Atalanta totally prevailed over Valencia by 4-1 in the first match and took an important lead to qualify for the quarterfinals of the competition. It's worth mentioning that this is their first-ever appearance in UEFA Champions League. Their inexperience, however, appeared in the second half fo th first leg where they could have conceded even more than one time, losing the significant lead they had in their hands.

Atalanta had an impressive season in the Italian Serie A so far, where after 25 rounds they are 4th-placed with 48 points, having also the best attack in the league.

Valencia is forced to take an early lead in an empty Mestaya in order to have chances for qualification. They will not probably revert the situation, but they could certainly get a narrow win against Atalanta, which is for sure a weak defensive team. Valencia to win is my call!
