Valladolid are quite a strong home team

Valladolid secured their participation in promotion play-offs at the final round of the regular season, by winning 2-0 Osasuna, who were playing for the same goal. Sergio Gonzalez's arrival two months ago change team's atittude, as they had 5 wins in the last 8 games and made it to top 6. They had an impressive performance at home with 14 win in 21 games. First choice midfielder Michel is suspended, while the participation of injured A.Cotan (midfielder) and Deivid (defender) will be last minute decision.

Sporting Gijon made a 'favor' at Cordoba in regular season's final round, having secured their participation at play offs. Their defeat 3-0 didn't affect Ruben Baraja's team, but their opponent reached the long-awaited stay. Regular's season final rounds were fairly bad for the team from Asturia, since with 4 defeats in the last 5 games were enough to lose direct promotion to La Liga. First choice central defender Alex Perez is suspended and J.Rodriguez (belongs to Valladolid) who could be his replacement, will cost to Gijon, as there is a fee for participating in games against his mothernal team.

There is no doubt that both teams will play carefully in tonight's firs game for the play-offs. Due to their performances in "Jose Zorilla" (14-3-4), Valladolid are candidates to return to top league of Spanish football after 4 years. On the other hand, Sporting Gijon weren't that bad away in the whole regular season (6-5-10), but having in mind their last month's performances (1-0-4), I cannot think something positive for them in tonight's game. Valladolid's win @ 2.21 would be my choice, probably with the single goal difference.
