Waregem refuse to lose

Genk finished 5th in regular season and got a place to Championship's play off. Due to their low ranking they couldn't hope for anything else but 5th place in the play-offs, which led them to fight for a place in European leagues. They performed quite well at Championship's play offs as they were undefeated at home and conceded only 4 goals in 5 matches. Overall, however, they didn't perform so well with 4 wins, 4 draws and 2 defeats.

On the other hand, there is Zulte Waregem, a team that try to stand out in domestic Championship the last years. However they had a quite average performance in regular season and they finished 9th. Their European tasks were an important fact for this outcome. Their place did not allow them to qualify at Championship's play offs and they are on the run with the weaker teams for a European spot. After 9 wins and a draw they proved that they deserved more. Their superiority and determination made them lose no game even when they secured the first spot of their group. In a thriller match last Wednesday they qualified for today's final against Lokeren, with only 10 players from 37'. Lokeren took the lead twice at 89' and 96', but Waregem tied at 93' and 114' and they finally qualified at penalty shootout.

Genk won twice at home and away Zulte Waregem this year. Zulte will play hard for a positive result and with some luck they may even be able to win.
