West Brom vs Chelsea Match Preview

West Brom is ranked at the bottom of the table yet to earn a point, after losing their first two games for this season. They started with a 3-0 defeat against Leicester and made things worse losing 5-2 to Everton. To top it off, they are also out of the EFL Cup, after losing to Brentford on penalties following a 2-2 draw.

I see a very difficult season ahead of them, especially with this defensive side as just in the last three games they conceded ten goals averaging at least three per game. The last time they managed to win a game against Chelsea was back in 2015.

Chelsea, on the other hand, is ranked at 11th place with three points after a win and a loss so far. They started things in the right way, taking care of Brighton with an easy 3-1 victory, but then they fell 0-2 at home against Liverpool. It seems like they bounced back pretty good from the defeat against Liverpool, as they demolished Barnsley in the EFL Cup with a 6-0 result.

Havertz was on fire as he scored three goals and he is expected to start again alongside Werner and Abraham. That is an offensive trio that will surely cause problems for the poor defense of West Brom. Ziyech is still out because of an injury, but Pulisic might actually get some minutes in the second half as he is still doubtful.

In conclusion, I think Chelsea should win this match. They have a better team here full of quality players and despite some absences, they have the right players to replace them. They won four of the last five h2h games between them with one ending in a draw. West Brom lacks the quality to compete in the Premier League this season and things could only get worse in this home game against Chelsea.
