WS Wanderers vs Sydney FC Match Preview

WS Wanderers face Syndey FC for the Australian A-League at the empty Bankwest Stadium due to the spread of the COVID-19.

WS Wanderers tried to bounce back after their recent defeat against Brisbane Roar. They performed decently in Melbourne and got a comfortable 1-1 draw against Melbourne City. This result kept them closer to the positions that lead to the playoffs of the league.

They are currently having a two-point difference from the top-six of the table and their goal is no other than reaching the playoff zone. The 33-year old midfielder Pirmin Schwegler is the only one missing today for Wanderers, he was red carded in the previous match. On the other hand, key player Daniel Georgievski and the German defender Patrick Ziegler are fully fit and we will probably see them in the starting eleven. 

Sydney, on the other hand, after an amazing performance against Melbourne Victory winning by 1-4, they faced Perth Glory at home and failed to get all three points, playing a goalless draw, although they created a lot of goal scoring chances. 

They are currently sitting at the top of the table with a total of 47 points and seems quite impossible to lose this spot. They have registered two defeats against city rivals Wanderers when they faced them earlier this season, and probably they will try to reverttthis trend this time. Syndey will line up on today's match without any missing player. 

WS Wanderers will try to make things difficult for the league leaders Sydney and they will seek victory in order to approach even more the playoff zone. Sydney, despite topping the league, they certainly don't look invulnerable.
