Xanthi vs Asteras Tripolis Match Preview

Xanthi made an excellent start in the new season. They have already registered two wins in an equal number of games and are in the top places of the table. Their impressive 2-1 win over AEK in OAKA at the opening game was followed by another win, with the same score, 2-1 over Panetolikos in Agrinio. Their play that was based in counterattacks was more than effective and now they are ready for their first home win.

Asteras Tripolis had a difficult schedule in the first two rounds, they faced Olympiakos and AEK. They suffered a narrow1-0 loss in Pireaus at their opening game, followed by a 3-2 loss to AEK at Tripoli. However, Asteras Tripolis were quite competitive in both games, actually, they could have get one point against AEK, but they were unlucky to concede a goal in the dying minutes of the game. Now they will search for their first points against a strong team in their away game vs Xanthi.

Xanthi's performance in their first two games was impressive and it seems that they could be a pleasant surprise in this season's Greek Super League. On the other hand, Asteras Tripolis have no points so far, but they seem to have potential, so their future is expected more bright. Both teams will search for the three-pointer in this one, and in my viewpoint, it's worth betting on goals. Over 2.5 goals is my call in this one.
