Yokohama M. vs Shonan Match Preview

Last seasons champions Yokohama M. host Shonan for the 3rd round of the J. League.

Yokohama's was pretty mediocre in their opening league game. Before the break of the league due to the pandemic, they were defeated 1-2 to Gaba Osaka, while four days ago they competed against Urava and played a 'bittersweet' bore draw.

With just one point in the league so far, the team of Ange Postecoglou will seek the three points today in order to put an end to their bad streak. Ado Onaiwu is expected to be selected by the Greek-Australian manager for the first eleven.

Sonan suffered their second defeat in the Championship. After losing 2-3 to Urava in their opening game of the J. League, in the second round they were defeated again to Sendai by 0-1. So the visitors have already registered two home defeats. Today, they will have to give their best in order to change things up.

Although they will not have an easy task today against Gikohama Marino, I expect them to focus on their defense and fight as much as they can to get their first positive result in this season. 

Considering the experienced players and the overall quality of the hosts Yokohama Marino against the weaker Sonan, I expect an easy victory for the home team.
