AC Milan – Hellas Verona Match Preview

Even if Milan scored an early goal against Udinese playing on the road, they couldn’t dominate the pitch. The hosts found the equalizer at the beginning of the second half and they could have taken even the three-pointer if Z.Ibrahimovic hadn’t scored a trademark goal for his class. After this outcome Milan remained at the top of the Italian Serie A, having 16 points after 6 rounds played.

However, Milan wasn’t so lucky in their midweek task for the Europa League competition. After a really bad performance, they deservedly lost to Lille 0-3 playing in San Siro. This was another sign that Milan is not in the same condition as earlier in the season.

Attacker A. Rebić will be in the squad, however, he is not 100% fit. He could possibly play for some minutes in the second half.

Verona won comfortably against Benevento, even if the visitors found the equalizer at the beginning of the second half. They immediately regained control of the match, scoring twice and also hitting the post in the following 20 minutes.

The visitors do not have available defender K. Günter who didn’t recover from his injury on time. K. Rüegg, Miguel Veloso, D. Faraoni και A. Favilli are not 100% fit, it’s a last-minute decision if any of them could enter the squad for the match in San Siro.

Undoubtedly Milan to lose a second match in a 4-day spell is not the most possible outcome. However, the performance of S.Pioli’s side in the last couple of weeks cannot convince me that this encounter could be an easy one for them. Verona was super competitive against Juve a couple of weeks ago (1-1), actually, they always fancy playing against the big names of the league. I do not rule out a huge upset here unless Z.Ibrahimovic sets his rules in another game for Milan.
