Battle for a place in Copa Sudamericana

Things could be worse for Union Santa Fe. Although they scored 2 goals in Tigre's home before the first quarter, in the second half their opponent managed to equalise the game. it was a quite open game with many missed chances from both. After this outcome, they sit on the 10th place of the table in Superliga, along with their current opponent and both target the 9th place, to qualify in the upcoming Copa Libertadores. Attacker P.Cuadra and midfielder B.Alvarez aren't available tonight. I do not rule out rotation from coach L.Madelon, since on Thursday they are playing vs Independiente del Valle from Ecuador.

Lanus with a successful journey and a 5-1-1 record came closer to 9th place and the qualification to Copa Sudamericana is no longer a dream for them. On Saturday they played a home 1-1 draw with San Martin and that was their first negative result this season (their only defeat was in Bombonera vs Boca Juniors, but that was quite expected). Their opponent opened the scoreline from the very beginning and kept the lead till the halftime. In the second half, Lanus missed many chances but it was the veteran J.Dand who scored the equalizer in the dying minutes. Defender R.Garcia is suspended, in contrast to F.Quignon (midfielder) and L.Acosta (attacker) who will perform tonight.

Undoubtedly a close game is expected tonight at 'Estadio 15 de Abril'. The table does not lie, both teams have 31 points.
