Cruzeiro vs Botafogo SP Match Preview

Cruzeiro is coming from a really bad season and they relegated to Serie B for the first time in their history. Their financial problems are huge, something that has already affected their new campaign since FIFA has imposed a 6-point deduction. Even so they are considered to be among the promotion favorites, something that I'm not sure for the moment, the competition in Serie B is traditionally fierce.

In the regional league of Mineyrao, Cruzeiro didn't perform well since they were no not among the title contenders. Additionally, in the Brazilian Cup, they had also a questionable performance. They suffered a 0-2 defeat at home against Club de Regatta back in March, so things will be very difficult for them in the second leg.

Botafogo SP may not have achieved anything great last season, but they remained comfortably in Serie B, finishing somewhere in the middle of the standings. I am not expecting them to achieve anything better this year, since they didn't do any significant signings.

In the Regional league of Paulista, they fought for the 5th place, but they were knocked out by Bragantino in the semifinals. The newly transferred Elicarlos is not 100% fit to play tonight, however, he is an experienced midfielder, and I expect to help the team.

Cruzeiro are the big favorites in this one, based on the offered odds, but they face many problems and I prefer to take the risk with the away win. The odds at 7.00 are quite tempting.
