Maribor's tradition against Scottish is epic

Steven Gerrard's Rangers have two qualifiers against Balkan teams so far. Firstly they eliminated Shkupi (2-0 in 'Ibrox, 0-0 in FYROM) and then Osijek (1-0 in Croatia, 1-1 on second game in Glasgow). They did not dominate in any game but they weren't defeated either. In 'Ibrox' they are based on their power and the support of their fans. However this is going to be the most difficult game so far since the opponent is as Steven Gerrard called 'Champions League level team'.

Maribor, who drew with Olimbija Ljubljana in Slovenia and lost the title, have an impressive number of 15 games in a row (friendly, Championship, European tournaments). In 13/15 they didn't concede any goal. In the two previous qualification rounds they eliminated Partizani (1-0 in Tirana and 2-0 in Slovenia) and Chikhura Sachkhere (0-0 in Georgia and 2-0 in second game). They have a remarkable record against teams from Scotland, having eliminated Hibernian (2010), Rangers (2011), Celtic (2014) and Aberdeen (2016). In neither of these matches they were defeated in Scotland (2 wins and two draws).

I think that these two teams haven't any big difference in capacity, but Slovenians are more experienced and have Darko Milanic on their bench for the third season. Rangers have nothing to do with who they were at the past and for one more season, the second place is their highest goal. I will look for the surprise at this point, as this game is 50/50 for me but the betting value is on Slovenia's team side.
