Netherlands - USA Match Preview

In this match of the second round of the World Cup the winner of the group A, the Netherlands, will play against the second-placed team from group B, the USA. Both teams are yet to be defeated at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The Netherlands is the better team here, but the USA has been playing well above expectations and have some players which are world-class. There will be a lot of nerves involved in the match. In my opinion, the USA has been playing better at least to the eye. The Netherlands struggled in matches against Senegal and Ecuador and they will need to raise the level of their game against the USA.They were really especially lucky to win the match against the tricky Senegal team.

The US has some terrific players which play for the best European teams. If they can defend for the first 45 minutes then anything could happen in the second half. I will go with the USA. Their coach Gregg Berhalter has lead his team solidly and I expect him to continue against the Netherlands, the country in which he played as a player for years.
