Netherlands vs Argentina Match Preview

This is the first quarter-final of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, between the Netherlands and Argentina. 

The Netherlands topped their group and then knocked out the USA quite easily in their first knock-out game. Van Gaal manages his team really well, the fact is that he has some very talented players. Gakpo has been their go-to man in attack as he has scored three goals for them. 

The Netherlands plays a formation with three center backs, something that very few teams play. They normally start Van Dijk, Ake, and De Ligt, however, Timber played instead of De Ligt in the last game. Depay did not start the first two games for the Netherlands as he was not fully fit but has started the last two and might start here as well.

Argentina started the World Cup poorly losing by two goals to one against Saudi Arabia but won every game after that. They have not played better than the Netherlands as they rely too much on Messi and he has been bailing Argentina out most of the time. 

The Netherlands would try to mark Messi really well as any mistake would really cost them, but overall, I feel the Netherlands is a really solid team and can win this game. The value is on Netherlands' side here and I'll pick them to either win or draw.
