Netherlands vs USA Match Preview

The Netherlands, as the first team from group A, and the USA as the first team from group B are going to play their first match in the knockout phase.

The Netherlands was first in their group but that was one of the easier groups in this tournament because Qatar showed that they are probably the worst team in the competition. Senegal and Equador showed quality but nothing special. In all three games, there were 2 goals minimum. They showed great control but nothing too special in the attack. Cody Gakpo showed that he is one of the most talented young players in the tournament but besides that nothing special.

The USA entered 1/16 finals as second in their group. In the end, they beat Iran and got this match. It will really hard for them but I believe they can find some chances here because the Netherlands will have the ball and they can look to counter them which is good for their style.

The USA allowed only 1 goal in this tournament and that was from the penalty spot against Wales. Their defense is solid. They kept a clean sheet against England which is impressive. The Netherlands is playing well but their attack is not that dangerous and I believe this will really tough game and possibly one goal will decide the match.
