Nice have the motive

Rennes registered four consecutive games without a single win and they have no hopes left for a European spot. The most recent one was the midweek previously postponed game in Nimes (3-1 loss). With a record 0-2-2 in the last four, Rennes are now 8 points below the 4th place with the remaining games running out. Their journey till the Europa League last 16 definitely charged them, as they had to play 10 more games than the rest of the Ligue 1 teams. Midfielder B.André is suspended, attackers M.Niang, I.Sarr are doubtful.

Nice were the only team from the first-8 of Ligue1 that won last Weekend and improved their place on the table. Although the 1-0 win vs Montpellier wasn't an impressive one, they got what they want, a second consecutive win and now they are 4 points below the 4th place which gives a European ticket. Nice may have scored only10 goals in their games on the road, but their yield when playing away from Allianz Riviera (5-5-6) is the 5th best away record in Ligue 1. Y.Atal and A.Tameze are 100% fit and they are back in contention.

Rennes target to nowhere after their recent unsuccessful streak and they only wait to finish seamlessly this season. On the other hand, Nice will try for a third consecutive win to keep alive their hopes for a European ticket. In my point of view, these two teams are almost equal in strength and my choice in this one has to be the motive and the biggest odds. I will opt for the away win.
