Serbia - Switzerland Match Preview

Serbia will face Switzerland in this Group G match at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Serbia must win this match in order to have the chance of reaching the next round of the competition.

Serbia was defeated 2:0 by Brazil in the first round. In that match, they did not play well, but that was rather expected, provided that Brazil is the top favorite to lift the trophy. But in the second round, they were up 3:1 against Cameroon and managed to concede two late goals for a 3:3 draw. The atmosphere within the team is not good. According to Balkan newspapers, a couple of players have some personal issues.

Switzerland won against Cameroon in their first-round game. In the second round, they were playing really well against Brazil but still lost 1-0 in the end. They need a draw from this match to seal second place in the group. But I do not expect them to defend themselves in this one. They have a solid team that has been playing together for years and all individuals are very familiar with each other.

The last time these two teams played was at the 2018 World Cup. Back then, the Swiss team managed to win 2:1, despite being down 1:0 at halftime. They eliminated Serbia back then, and I expect them to do the same once again.
